Competition submission for a nursery renovation

A feasibility study and competition submission to renovate the Reine Fabiola nursery in the Molenbeek area of Brussels. The project is an ambitious Renoclick renovation to improve energy efficiency of public building and accessibility. Our proposal included both indoor and outdoor space designs, as well as upgrades to the building facade.

Interior design elements focused on creating an inclusive and intuitive childcare environment, with technical installations, materials, and water management studied to control energy consumption, avoid overheating, and estimate the potential saving. Structural adjustments were also addressed and our designs complied with O.N.E regulations for childcare settings, including bio-sourced materials, meeting requirements of different age groups, ventilation, acoustics and lighting.
