Renovation of a library and ‘third space’ environment
The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, active worldwide in promoting access to the German language and encouraging international cultural exchange. The renovation of their library in Nairobi incorporated spatial and furniture designs for both the library and outdoor terrace, an extension of the indoor space.
The design strategy enhances the library’s multifunctionality, incorporating various mixed-use zones capable of hosting diverse activities, events or workshops.
